Il-għaqda ‘LE b’Rispett Lejn il-Ġejjieni’ qed jitwaqqaf minn grupp ta’ żgħażagħ: ġuvintur u tfajliet, ħaddiema u studenti minn kull sfera tas-soċjeta’ Maltija, bil-għan li jitwassal quddiem l-elettorat Malti wiċċ realistiku tad-diversita’ żgħażugħa fil-pajjiz li qed jipproponu li f’Malta ma tidħolx il-ligi tad-divorzju.

Din id-deċiżjoni trid tittieħed, għalhekk huwa importanti li dawk iż-żgħażagħ kollha li fil-fond ta’qalbhom jaħsbuha bħalna, nhar it-28 ta’ Mejju joħorġu jivvutaw u jivvutaw LE.

Il-motivazzjonijiet individwali li wasluna biex nieħdu dan il-pass, li nitkellmu u nsemmgħu leħinnha, huma imsejsa fuq l-effetti Ekonomiċi, Soċjali u Legali li jinħolqu hekk kif id-divorzju ssir ligi.

Italian Advice - Press Release 24th May 2011

Recently Massimo Introvigne wrote a letter entitled “Lettera di Massimo Introvigne agli amici di Malta sul divorzio” a letter which immediately attracted the interest of the group “Le B’Rispett Lejn il-Ġejjieni”. For those less familiar with the name of Massimo Introvigne, it would be interesting to note that he is indeed an Italian sociologist with a world wide reputation. He is also a member of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe). A few days ago the group “Le B’Rispett Lejn il-Ġejjieni” discussed an article about Malta written by David Quinn. Like David Quinn, Massimo Introvigne takes the experience of his country Italy after the introduction of divorce and uses that experience to pass a message within the local debate which Introvigne claims to be following with keen interest.

Introvigne states that the introduction of divorce always leads to a whole plethora of social consequences and that anyone stating to the contrary is speaking with an election in mind or as he aptly puts it in Italian, “bugie elettorali”. Since Italy introduced divorce, marriages have decreased and this in a consistent manner from 1974 until today. At present 21.7% of children in Italy are born out of wedlock (ISTAT 2009) and this with dramatic consequences…all of which have are socially problematic and which can only be tackled with the protection which only a stable family can offer).

Dal 29 maggio sarà troppo tardi” (When one starts the slippery slope when it comes to the negation of the natural values of life and family there is no stopping this. It is useless crying once the affair is complete on May 28th 2011. The Italian experience in 1974 and post 1974 sends a message to all Maltese that they should say no to divorce to stop this culture of saying no the family and no to life. On May 29th it will be too late).
